NOTE: ECO Platform is not a certification scheme within the meaning of EmpCo, and an ECO EPD is not a certification that a product is environmentally superior or more sustainable. When using the ECO EPD logo in consumer-facing communication, EPD owners should therefore ensure that the logo is presented as a reference to verified environmental information, and not as a sustainability label. The logo should be clearly linked to the specific product and the relevant EPD, for example through the product name, EPD number, or a direct link/QR code to the EPD. Avoid using the logo together with general environmental claims such as “green”, “environmentally friendly”, “sustainable” or “climate-friendly”, or in a way that could give the impression that the product is environmentally certified. The overall presentation must be considered when determining how the logo may be perceived by consumers. The EPD owner is responsible for ensuring that the use of the ECO EPD logo and any accompanying environmental claims comply with applicable requirements.
